WHAT ARE PEOPLE ARE LOOKING FOR IN THEIR OFFICES?

According to the Human Spaces Global Report the top five elements include: natural light, indoor plants, quiet space, view of the sea and bright colors. The study was conducted in 2015 by Human Spaces and they surveyed 7,600 workers in 16 countries. According to the study, even small nature-inspired changes can have a dramatic impact!

1. NATURAL LIGHT (44%)

Natural light is the most wanted element within the workplace. However, an alarming 47% of employees claim that they have no natural light within their work environment.

2. INDOOR PLANTS (20%)

Accordingly, elements clearly representative of the natural world, indoor plants, made it to the top five. Yet, 58% of repondents report having no greenery within their workplace.

3. QUIET SPACE (19%)

28% of respondents said that they do not have a quiet space where they can go to work. Furthermore, over 10% felt most productive in a space that suited the task, such as a quiet room for a call, or break out area.

4. VIEW OF THE SEA (17%)

Who wouldn’t admire a view of the sea in any occasion? Related to this, other studies have shown that a pleasant and natural view can raise the price of a house considerably.

5. BRIGHT COLORS (15%)

Naturally bright colors were found most appealing. Actually, 67% of respondents report feeling happy when walking into environments accented with green, yellow or blue colors.
