POSITIVE EFFECTS WITH NATURAL ELEMENTS
Interior environments are enhanced when views or elements of the outside world are brought into the interior design. To make your your home healthier, incorporate outdoors with indoors. Some of these tactics include adding real or artificial houseplants, using natural textures & patterns and adding colors that resemble nature.
Here are some strategies that might work for your home:
1 . ADD REAL HOUSEPLANTS
Real plants clean the air and assist in breathing.
2 . ARTIFICIAL PLANTS WILL DO AS WELL
If you don’t have a green thumb, go for fake plants. Being around plants improves concentration, memory and productivity.
3 . INSTALL NATURE-RELATED WALLPAPER
If you don’t have a “room with a view”, get a wall with a view instead. Seeing nature reduces anxiety.
4 . ADD PICS AND PAINTINGS OF NATURE
Decorate walls with pics from your dream travel destinations. Start dreaming.
5 . ADD WOODEN SURFACES
Buy a wooden table, or small wooden decorative items. Touching wooden surfaces reduces stress levels.
6 . USE ANY NATURAL TEXTURES AND PATTERNS
Get a trendy cork seat, collect stones to your bathroom, hang hand-picked branches above your sofa. Use your creativity!
7 . USE COLORS OF NATURE
Using natural color scheme inside will connect you back to nature. Play with different shades of green, blue, brown, grey and other colors that you associate with nature.
8 . INCORPORATE SUNLIGHT
Keep outdoors in your sight. Open blinds and position your seat towards the window. Don’t block the sunlight.
9 . LISTEN TO NATURE
Open windows or listen to “sounds of nature” videos from YouTube. You will feel the instantly calming influence.
10 . BREATH NATURE
Remember to air out whenever possible. Indoor air will get cleaner.
